Sharaabi is a 1984 comedy drama film produced and directed by Prakash Mehra. Sharaabi stars Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Prada with Pran and Om Prakash along with Bharat Bhushan and Ranjeet.
The film , which was loosely inspired by the 1981 movie Arthur , was remade in Kannada in 1985 as Nee Thanda Kanike with Vishnuvardhan and Jayasudha.
The story of the spoilt but kind-hearted son of an extremely rich and uncaring father who heads down the path of alcoholism and depression.
The music of this album is composed by Bappi Lahiri and regarded as one of his most polished work. All the songs of the album were hits. Kishore Kumar won his 7th Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer for the song "Manzilein Apni Jagah Hain".
