“Play it to Believe it, An Incredible Bass for beginners to advanced players”.
In Picture is the Sire Marcus Miller V7 2ndGeneration
Introduction:
The legend said, “to put my name, it had to be perfect”.And sure, it is the perfect bass... An excellent jazz bass knocking out many other high-end jazz or boutique basses in the market. It is built like and tank looks like your first love, plays like a dream, and sounds like an incredible jazz bass. The tone is on par with the Fender jazz bass. I may sound a bit excited here. But it’s true mann! It doesn’t matter, whether you are a Beginner bass player or an intermediate or a pro, what you need is a good bass in any circumstances, and this is exactly that bass. Calling it even a good bass would be an insult. It is no less than excellent.
The Legend Marcus Miller made sure that his name on the bass justified his legacy in playing. The most ultimate thing is the price of this high-quality bass. Ranging from 37 k to at max 55 k, This bass is at par with basses in the market around 1 lakh. Marcus Miller said that, he wanted a high-quality bass built in such a price, that could be afforded by students and everyone else also. He wanted his bass to be enjoyed by everyone out there looking to play a high-quality bass in an affordable price range.
This bass has come from its first generation of models to the second generation, with many enhanced features.
Let’s see some of the special features and then will check out the specs.
The High-End Body make: The body made up of Swamp ash / North American Alder. These are high-quality tonewood that is not common in this price range bass.
- Swam Ash Body: Premium swamp ash tone wood is usually found in higher priced instruments. Swamp ash tone wood is known to produce a well-balanced tone. This wood is highly resonant and offers a nice balance of soothing highs, firm lows, and a slightly scooped midrange which is great for slap playing.
- North American Alder Body: The most popular choice for bass guitars is the North American Alder. Other basses at this price range commonly use Basswood or Agathis tone wood but Sire Guitars chooses the traditional North American Alder. This is known for its strong clear full-bodied sound, with beefy mids and excellent lows that are perfect for the traditional jazz bass sound.
Upgraded Pick Up Set: It comes with Marcus Super – J revolution set of pickups. To get the authentic jazz tone, these are made up of with USfomvar coil. These picks are made up of fiber bobbin and alnico 5 magnets wire, which too is made in the USA, The same alnico 5 used in some of the fender guitars. Marcus Miller Super-J revolution pickups offers you the most authentic jazz bass tone. It’s rich and heritage kind of tonal options.
Stable & Accurate Bridge for ultimate Sound Transfer:
Marcus Miller SIRE V7 bass is equipped with newly designed Marcus Miller SIRE Bridge which is specially developed with Marcus Miller’s request. This bridge has the characteristics of vintage jazz bass with a heavy mass saddle. This combination produces a rich and punchy sound. New Marcus Miller Bridge is a string-thru-body bridge mechanism that allows for a more tighter, accurate and stable tone.
Stable & Accurate Tuning Machine:
Tuning Gear: Sire Premium open gear Equipped with SIRE’s own premium open gear head machines developed with accurate gear ratio, the head machines are very reliable in turning.
One Piece Handmade Maple Neck:
The neck is made up of one piece Canadian hard maple. Due to this hard maple and strong maple neck, the neck movement becomes minimal and allows the neck to maintain it’s original shape. The top advantage of a one-piece neck is that it reduces the loss of vibration and thus provides long sustain and maintains the tone to last.
Beautiful Fretboard/Fingerboard:
- Ebony Fretboard: Ebony fretboard is dark in color and is very dense wood. It delivers crisp, clear, and well-rounded tones.
- Maple Fretboard: It comes with the swamp ash body in the bass. It doesn’t come with Adler body. Maple Fretboard delivers clean highs, sharp mod ranged tones, and a very clean sound.
The Awesome and fantastic Sire Preamp section:
This is just an amazing placement on a bass coming in this price range. This is just a plethora of sounds here on your bass, within the reach of your fingers. This preamp section is really second to none. Not even to the Fender American Jazz bass preamp section. It has its own class. In fact It is a Class.
This Preamp section is called as Marcus Heritage 3. With multiple tonal controls, you can dial in the tone you are hearing in your head right now. This has both, a Passive as well as an Active Preamp. Seriously a lot to have in this range Bass Guitar, Isn’t it? The active preamp is supported by the use of 18V battery in its battery socket on the back of the body. Changing the battery requires minimalist use of brain and physical effort. Not a Rock science at all.
It comes with a 3 band EQ option. It allows players to have versatility in the sound as per the need or the song or the session.
“All models also come with sweepable midrange control option that Marcus Miller advocates as a must-have option. The middle frequency control knob allows the player to set sound frequency anywhere between 80Hz~2kHz. This option will be very handy in finding the desired sound”.
